Sound creation

Further to the call for sounds launched by La Rochelle Université in December 2022, many beautiful and inspiring sounds were received from EU-CONEXUS Alliance.

Students of La Rochelle Université participating in a Podcast Workshop supervised by Julia Suero, sound artist and Héloïse Martin, author, stage director and actress used some of them to make three sound creations.

The common red thread of the students research was strangeness, the other, the journey and the search for oneself.

Two experimental sound creations were created:
– EU-CONEXUS radio
– Etrange été

A collective sound fiction “L’autre (é)moi” in which the students stepped into a French student shoes who goes on a study trip. As time goes by and the student creates stronger bonds with her new country and the people around her, she finds out that she is a stranger to herself. The journey starts to be an initiation and the story a metaphor for the search for identity.

All three sound creations was presented during EU-CONEXUS Festival 2023.
