🎉 The wait is over – the EU-CONEXUS Festival 2025 programme is here!

🌊 From 13 to 15 May in Limassol, Cyprus, we will be celebrating arts and culture, while exploring the theme of coastal sustainability at all levels.

Hosted by @frederick_university the festival will showcase the creative work of students from across the EU-CONEXUS Alliance and will include a vibrant mix of performances, workshops, sports activities, and more – all set along the stunning Mediterranean coast.

Open Lab Hours (OLH) are short 5-day training sessions on research topics provided by an intra-alliance team of mentors. They are designed for undergraduate and post-graduate master students of EU-CONEXUS universities with a keen interest in exploring research avenues related to Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability.

During OLH, students gain essential competencies from various alliance partners. Each OLH will take place in a hybrid format, combining simultaneously:

🔹 𝗢𝗻-𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 provided by the home University, focusing on advanced instrumentation and advanced instrumentation and specimen/data collection;

🔹 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 featuring literature search, specialized software implementation, research methods, ethics, scientific writing, and preparation for international competitions.

🌍 This week, the Sustainability in the Arts Festival lit up @SETU with creativity, culture, and conversation!

🎨 This year’s theme, Land, People, and Culture, brought powerful artistic expressions to life across our campuses.

✨ We were thrilled to have #EUCONEXUS play a role in the festival’s exciting lineup! The touring exhibition—featuring student artwork from across the EU-CONEXUS alliance—is currently on display in the Tourism & Leisure Building on SETU’s Cork Road Campus. Originating at @univlarochelle , travelling to @utcbro and then to the @university.of.zadar , the exhibition will also travel to @setuireland Wexford Campus before continuing its European journey.

📸 Special shoutout to @univlarochelle students Flora Dutordoir and Malory Jaulin, who showcased their haunting and beautiful photography exhibition, “Fragments de Mémoire” (Fragments of Memory). Their work explores the quiet stories behind abandoned places—spaces that often go unnoticed, yet spark emotion and curiosity. During their visit, Flora and Malory shared insights with 1st year Visual Arts students and spent time connecting with staff and students.

🍽️ Another memorable event from the week was the “30-Kilometer Sustainability Dinner,” prepared and served by Culinary Arts students using locally sourced ingredients.

👏 Thanks to everyone who organised, took part and contributed to the week’s events.
