🧑‍🎓👨🏻‍🎓🇪🇺 #ESA23 ! second edition of the European Student Assembly – Strasbourg, France 🇫🇷

👏This year, 230 students from 30 European countries, selected from 1,400 applications, spent three days visiting the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France.
The European Student Assembly (ESA 2023) in Strasbourg brought together students from the European University Associations (EUA), including EU-CONEXUS, and numerous other partners to engage in meaningful discussions, develop recommendations, and advocate for change.

🗣️There was a wide range of topics for debate with 10 themes ranging from democracy and sustainability to mental health, foreign policy, and skills development.

Three intensive days included panel discussions to refine the proposals. In addition, participants had the opportunity to get to know the city of Strasbourg as the capital of the European Parliament.

Participating in the ESA 2023 Strasbourg event was not just an event, but a transformative experience. Participants had the opportunity to network with their peers, gain invaluable knowledge, and develop important skills that will shape their future.

ℹ Situated in western Metropolitan Athens, the "Antonis Tritsis" Metropolitan Park is the largest park in the region, covering approximately 1,200 acres. Renowned for its expansive size and awe-inspiring natural scenery, the park captivates visitors from Athens and beyond. On weekends, the park welcomes a considerable influx of visitors, with an average attendance of 15,000-16,000, which further increases during holidays and major events.

📣 On Thursday, May 25, 2023, the @agricultural_university_athens hosted an inspiring EU-CONEXUS Info Day, offering an array of opportunities for students. The event showcased amazing study programs, international mobility prospects, and invaluable connections to the job market.
◾ Dr. Helen Miliou, the Vice Rector for the European University, Internationalization, and Student Affairs, set the stage with a warm and uplifting welcome address, setting a positive tone for the day.
◾ The attendees were captivated by the exceptional presentations of Ms. Vera Charitou and Ms. Olga Ntantali, deepening their understanding of the EU-CONEXUS initiative and its offerings in study programs, international mobility, and job market connections. Ms. Vasiliki Despiniadi, a member of the EU-CONEXUS Student Board, also shared valuable insights about the alliance’s opportunities and perspectives, highlighting its significance and benefits.
A highlight of the event was hearing from students who actively participated in EU-CONEXUS activities, sharing their transformative experiences and how the alliance empowered and enriched their educational journey. The event also included a recognition ceremony honoring successful completers of EU-CONEXUS programs.
💡 As the event drew to a close, a thought-provoking debate on Climate Change took place, engaging participants in an intellectually stimulating discussion. The debate fostered a deeper understanding of the pressing challenges posed by climate change and encouraged attendees to reflect on their role in addressing this global issue
With the event concluded, the EU-CONEXUS Info Day left a lasting impression, inspiring students to explore the numerous possibilities and advantages offered by the alliance.

After an extensive evaluation process that considered both external (50%) and internal (50%) voting procedures 🗳️, we are proud to present David Talens Perales from @Universidad Católica de Valencia San Vicente Mártir as the well-deserving winner of the contest!

David's winning entry, "Sea of Flamingos" 🦩, captured in Albufera of Valencia in Spain, has truly mesmerized us with its breathtaking beauty and artistic composition.

🎁 As a reward, David will receive a 200€ voucher! This voucher can be used for photo equipment or framing/printing services, helping David enhance his photography skills and create masterpieces.

🔬 Exciting physical mobility experience at the Agricultural University of Athens! 🧪 Between the 8th - 12th of May, EU-CONEXUS students in the “Biotechnology and Nanobiotechnology of Marine Bioactive Molecules” Minor Course had hands-on learning in Athens. They explored antimicrobial and cytotoxicity methods, generating microalgae extracts and assessing their bioactivity. 🌍 This valuable experience goes beyond academics, fostering connections and paving the way for exciting educational opportunities. 🔍 Photographs submitted will be evaluated based on their originality, creativity, photographic quality, and relevance to the theme. The final score will be determined through two separate voting processes. Here's how it works:
🗳️ Open-To-All Voting:
From May 23rd to May 28th, you have the power to make your voice heard! Cast your votes for your favorite photos through our website voting platform ➡ https://www.eu-conexus.eu/en/wild-bird-photo-contest/. Your votes will contribute to 50% of the final score.
👥Internal Voting:
In addition to the open-to-all voting, representatives from the 9 Universities of the EU-CONEXUS Alliance will conduct an internal voting process. This internal voting will also account for 50% of the final score, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation.

The #EUCONEXUS Students Info Day was held on May 16, 2023 at the University of Zadar.
Students were introduced to the opportunities of studying at the European University for Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability.

The President of EU-CONEXUS Student Board Dragos Diaconu addressed the students in a video message. Students who have already participated in EU-CONEXUS activities shared their experiences so far, and Barbara Vukačević, a member of the EU-CONEXUS Student Board, presented to the students the opportunities and perspectives that EU-CONEXUS will offer to students in the next four years of the Alliance. Students were also informed about the future call for student projects, which will be published soon.

The Info Day took place in a cheerful 🙌 atmosphere with interesting speakers, practical rewards 🎁 and refreshments . 🆕 EU-CONEXUS Pollution/Depollution Minor Course students in physical mobility at Universitatea Tehnica de Constructii Bucuresti - @utcbro in📍 Bucharest.
➡️ Between 8th-12th of May, our partners from #UTCB organized a #physicialmobility in Bucharest for the EU-CONEXUS Minor students registered to the Course entitled Pollution/Depollution. Within the EU-CONEXUS Minor Programmes, students have the opportunity to be selected for some blended #MinorCourses including one short physical mobility to the university offering the course.
ℹ️ The Minor students had the chance to interact with the UTCB teachers on different campuses and to work together during the courses’ applications based on Air and Water Pollution.
▶️ Besides the courses and laboratories, the Minor students also participated in social activities organized by ASCB - Asociația Studenților la Construcții din București – and by volunteers from ESN ASE CMP Bucharest, such as👇
✅ Bucharest City Center Tour
✅ UTCB Refugees Center Tour
✅ Sports activities
✅Karaoke evening
These types of mobilities also help our students to better understand our European University Alliance and the multiple #opportunities we provide.
