📣 Workshops on learning outcomes for the EU-CONEXUS Teaching Community!

Join us for online workshops on effective learning outcomes. Workshops are organized by ODSO in collaboration with the University Centre Stjepan Maticevic at the @university.of.zadar , led by Prof. Slaven Zjalić, PhD.

Workshop structure:

Theoretical Insights: Learn the foundations of writing effective learning outcomes. 📚

Practical Experience: Engage in small group work and discussions for hands-on learning. 🤝

First Workshop:

Second Workshop:

📅 Tuesday, October 22nd

Our 5th edition of the School Contest is approachi

Our 5th edition of the School Contest is approaching fast! 👀

🗓️ Make sure you register your team until 29th of November and that you check out the stages for each category of pupils.

PHASE I - Creation

Step 1: Following a video on sustainability, each team of pupils must answer an online Quiz, estimated time 3 minutes.

Step 2: Each team must collect recycled items and make any new object that will be creative, innovative or impactful.

Step 3: Each team will be required to submit a presentation (10 slides including at least 5 photos, a short description of the new object and evidence of creativity, innovation or impact and also relevance to smart urban coastal sustainability topics).

PHASE II - National Final

Up to five teams from each country will proceed to their National Final. Teams will be given 10 minutes to deliver the presentation made at Phase 1 Step 3 to their national jury.

PHASE III - International EU-CONEXUS Final (online) - 10th of April 2025

The winning team from each country will proceed to the International Final and make a presentation to the international jury. There will be one National Winner in each age category.

✨EU-CONEXUS at European Researchers’ Night Celebrating Science 🎉🔬

@university.of.zadar , as a key partner in the Blue Connect 2.0 project, was proud to host the European Night of Researchers held on Friday, 27th September 2024, featuring a range of science popularization activities.

🌍 The European Researchers’ Night is the largest science outreach event in Europe. In 2024 and 2025, 58 projects will run events in 25 countries.

Universities and research institutes across Europe opened their doors and shared their work through presentations, experiments, games, discussions, and other interactive formats. It was a great opportunity for visitors to go behind the scenes, meet researchers, and discover how the seemingly abstract world of science had already affected their everyday lives.

🌊🚢 Portathon Challenges: From Green Energy in Ports to Digital Tools for the Maritime Industry 🚢🌊

This past weekend, Portathon 2024 took place in Klaipėda—a dynamic hackathon focused on advancing technological solutions for the maritime industry and ports. Bringing together participants from across Europe, this year’s Portathon was a vibrant fusion of 🎨 creativity, 🤝 collaboration, and 💡 forward-thinking innovations.

Over the weekend, 18 teams, including 4 from EU-CONEXUS partner universities – @utcbro and @klaipedauniversity – worked alongside 20 dedicated mentors. Together, they tackled 8 ambitious challenges centred around 🌱 green energy, 🚛 logistics, 🛠️ digital tools, and 🌊 sustainable port environments.

The participants worked tirelessly, combining their expertise and innovative ideas to develop groundbreaking solutions that could revolutionise the port and maritime industries.

🌧️☺️Despite the rain, spirits were high and many thanks to #StudentServices at #SETU for organising the welcome day and creating such a fun atmosphere full of activities and games for #students!

🇪🇺 ❔ #EUCONEXUS at #SETU were delighted to participate. Our quiz set a challenge for students with many winning some prizes. It was a great opportunity to showcase many of the opportunities for undergraduate students and explain how to get involved.
