[RECORDING] 3rd Annual Closing Conference “Discover Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability with EU-CONEXUS”
On the 1st of July 2022, the European University held its 3rd and last Annual Closing Conference (ACC) of the Pilot Phase. The event was held online and focused on « Discovering Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability in EU-CONEXUS ».
Jean-Marc Ogier, Chair of the EU-CONEXUS Governing Board opened the Conference with a highlight on « Why a European Alliance focused on SmUCS ?”. As he explained, the goal is to create a worldwide task force specialized in integrated coastal management with aninterdisciplinary strategy, respectful of the disciplinary, in a dynamic of excellence.
The ACC was then organised in three parts. Each of them focused on what SmUCS are in EU-CONEXUS educational programmes, in EU-CONEXUS Research and in external relations.
For each parts, some interactive dialogues with students from all cycle levels who participated to EU-CONEXUS academic programmes (Minor programmes, Joint PhD summer school, Social Entrepreneurship programme, school contest) flavoured the conference.
In terms of Research, achievements and future plans of the Joint Research institutes were presented. An highlight was also given on the cooperation between stakeholders and the university with an example of a successful cooperation between Frederick University of Cyprus and the Municipality of Limassol who initiated a project on risk assessment.
