Towards the roll-out of the European Universities initiative
EU-CONEXUS joins the common position of 41 European University Alliances with regard to the challenges and needs for a development of the pilot initiative started in 2019 as there are among others:
– Future policy instruments should enable European Universities to be key contributors to world-leading role in education, research and innovation, promoting European values
– Requirement of adequate support – both financially, but also in terms of more flexible national legislation and frameworks for collaboration at EU level
– The future funding instrument should fully integrate the education, research and innovation dimensions – moving beyond synergies between Erasmus and Horizon and move to a more sustainable ‘block’ funding.
