This Student Research Hub aims to give a practical hands-on experience in maintenance of microalgal culture collections, subculturing and scaling up cultures; monitoring cultures’ performance. Downstream activities for microalgal biomass profiling.

General learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will be able to:

  • To investigate and develop strategies for the production, extraction and analysis of bioactive molecules obtained from cultivated microalgae under controlled laboratory conditions.
  • To be able to work in team, manage time and adjust to results.

⛴️ EU-CONEXUS Minor students explore energy tr ⛴️ EU-CONEXUS Minor students explore energy transition in shipping at @klaipedauniversity This week Klaipeda University hosted students of the EU-CONEXUS Minor in “Energy Transition in Shipping: LNG” programme. Throughout the week, participants explored how innovation and sustainability shape the maritime industry — from lectures on energy transition to practical insights during visits to Klaipeda Seaport Authority and KN Energies. 👋 At KN Energies, students were welcomed by Martynas Ambrozaitis, Head of FSRU “Independence” Operations, who introduced the company’s LNG activities and led an insightful tour of the Small-Scale LNG Terminal. The programme, coordinated by Prof. Vytautas Paulauskas (KU), combined academic learning with hands-on experiences and cultural exchange — highlighting how collaboration between universities and industry fosters a more sustainable maritime future.
