We are delighted to share the inspiring journey of 8 incredible students who recently took part in the SHIE (Sport Handicap Inclusive Experience) project trip as part of UTCB's major ConstructFEST event in Bucharest, Romania.

Students exchanged ideas and enjoyed various sports like basketball, badminton, football, and chess with their peers. The trip also included exploring iconic locations such as the famous Parliament building and the charming Old Town

🤝 This journey was more than just a trip; it was a profound human experience that cultivated new friendships, created unforgettable memories, and brought a lot of joy to everyone involved.

🎊 The 4th edition of the International School Contest “Think Smart, Create Green” has officially ended. Many congratulations to all the participants and Bravo to our international winners!

This year’s edition saw a total of 102 teams in the 12-15 age category, and 51 teams in the 15-18 age category.

🌟 Kick-off conference of the EU-CONEXUS ENABLES project at University of Zadar!

🌍 The University of Zadar is a partner in project aimed at expanding participation and strengthening the European Research Area Horizon Europe (WIDERA).

🔬 Researchers from partner universities will collaborate to develop sustainable solutions for critical challenges facing coastal regions and promoting excellence through innovative ecosystems using cutting-edge methodologies like the Digital Twins approach

🎯 The project focuses on increasing excellence in value creation through deeper and geographically inclusive collaboration and tackling social issues and needs arising from our support to stakeholders. Moreover, the project will provide education and capacity building programs for young researchers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

👨‍🏫👩‍🔬 Vice-Rector, Professor Zvjezdan Penezić, PhD shared insights into the project's objectives and how researchers and teachers can engage with the HORIZON project.

EU-CONEXUS EENVIRO Research Conference between 29t

EU-CONEXUS EENVIRO Research Conference between 29th-31st of October, 2024 in📍Bucharest.
🗓️ Researchers, including PhD students, are kindly asked to submit their topic abstracts no later than May 15th.
🗓️ Submission deadline for papers is June 15th.

We encourage the EU-CONEXUS community to participate in two possible ways: by submitting extended abstracts or handing in full scientific articles that will be published by E3S Web of Conferences.

ℹ️ Event attendance and publication is free of charge for EU-CONEXUS researchers, including PhD students, from the 9 partner universities. Researchers coming from outside of EU-CONEXUS are subject to a fee of 300 Euros, and for researchers under the age of 35 years the fee is 200 Euros.

🌍 International opportunities for students thanks to #EUCONEXUS! On Wednesday, EU-CONEXUS students and staff joined the #InternationalDay organised by the #RostockInternationalHouse of the University of Rostock. International Day, the OUTGOING fair for students, offers talks, info booths, workshops and the “Café International”, a space for students to interact with coffee and delicious homemade cakes! 😋

During the EU-CONEXUS presentation, we were able to share insights into

💡 the unique way of studying and carrying out research through institutional alignment and

💡 the seamless mobility options for all offered by the alliance.

Questions were answered on how to fit in EU-CONEXUS with regular study programs or use it to prepare for a longer stay abroad. 🤓

🙌 It was great to witness the keen interest and participation from the students, who are eager to explore new opportunities for studying and research on a European scale.

🙏 Thank you to all who attended and showed enthusiasm for driving sustainable advancements together. And a big thank you to the team from the Rostock International House for organising the event!

👨‍💼During the 2nd Student Ambassadors Training, participants learned from esteemed speakers: Dr. Rebecca Power from @setuireland , Dr. Antonis Vlassopoulos from @agricultural_university_athens , and Toula Dimitropoulou from @frederick_university .

Together, they gleaned valuable insights, including:

✅How to sign up for JobTeaser to access helpful resources for their career journey and explore European job and internship opportunities;
✅Understanding that recruiters and HR professionals spend a mere 11 seconds or less scanning a CV, they’ve learned the importance of having a peer review their CV for spelling and grammar errors;
✅Emphasizing the significance of personal values and identifying one’s unique selling point, they’ve realized that every job entails transferable skills, prompting them to discover and highlight their own.

Joining the EU-CONEXUS Student Ambassadors is a great way of developing skills and applying insights from your course to real-world situations! 🤓

Our colleagues from Universitatea Tehnica de Constructii Bucuresti - UTCB were delighted to introduce the pupils and students visiting them during their trademark event - ConstructFEST, the largest European construction fair - to the professional and international development opportunities they can access at @utcbro !

In two special sessions, they learned valuable information about:
✔️ #EUCONEXUS
✔️ Erasmus+ mobilities
✔️ CCOC - UTCB Career Counseling and Guidance Center
✔️ French Lectorate

At this year’s edition, the EU-CONEXUS Career Guidance and Counseling Center organized online “Meet International Companies at ConstructFEST”, where 20 students from 3 universities participated, and EU-CONEXUS Student Ambassadors in UTCB interacted at the Alliance stand with the 1,500 pupils who attended the Educational Fair, an activity under the auspices of the EU-CONEXUS University to School Program and ConstructFEST.

Also, the Open Days for All/Sport Handicap Inclusive Experience event was organized with the aim of supporting the participation and access of students with disabilities to the educational process and of emphasizing the values of inclusion and acceptance of diversity in the academic and professional environment.

Through interactive activities, sports and visits to the stands of the participating companies, students from 6 EU-CONEXUS partner universities and students with disabilities from two high schools were encouraged to collaborate despite their differences, thus strengthening a more open and inclusive educational, professional environment.

Every year this contest boosts the cooperation among local EU-CONEXUS universities and partner schools.

The 4th edition of our contest continued to shed a light on the crucial importance our coastal areas play for the balance of the coastal ecosystem. As they have long been considered ideal locations for human settlements, the increasing demand for natural resources and services has led to significant environmental challenges. This is why it is crucial that we take the necessary steps to protect these fragile ecosystems and mitigate the impacts of climate change to ensure the long-term sustainability of our coastal communities.

Therefore, we challenged pupils aged 12-15 to raise awareness about #sustainability, #circulareconomy, green and technologically #intelligentenvironments, and #smartcities and pupils aged 15-18 to think critically and creatively about #sustainabledevelopment, circular economy, and smart city technologies.
