🔬 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗘𝗨-𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗨𝗦 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗛𝘂𝗯 𝗔𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 ❗

The EU-CONEXUS Student Research Hubs (SRH) are 𝟮-𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 designed to foster collaboration between:

🔸 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 (academic and/or research staff Level R3 and R4),
🔸 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 (PhD students and researchers Level R1 and R2), and
🔸 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 of EU-CONEXUS universities in the field of research.

SRH teams work together on specific research tasks in a dynamic setting (𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹, 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱/𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱). Specifically, if an SRH is provided by the students‘ host university, on-site participation is expected; in other cases, attendance will be remote.

𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗔:

✅ Current 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 and 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 from the EU-CONEXUS universities.

✅ Strong 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 (B2 or higher).

💃 Last week @setuireland celebrated the #arts and #humanities at the Sustainability in the Arts festival. This cross-campus collaboration celebrates creativity and aims to answer the Sustainable Development Goals through innovation and artistry.

🤩 The week of creativity culminated in the EU-CONEXUS Dance Project being hosted at #SETU. Dancer and choreographer @jennifermacavinta joined an enthusiast group of staff and students at the @setu_arena_

🌊 The movement phrase inspired by Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability was beautifully adapted and performed by the group. A big thank you to Jennifer and the entire group of performers who embraced this opportunity. The baton is now passed to @university.of.zadar and we look forward to seeing the project progress.

We were also delighted to host colleagues from @univlarochelle who immersed themselves fully in the activities at #SETU. We look forward to further collaborations through #EUCONEXUS

🎉 We’re delighted to announce the opening of the Methodical STEAM Centre at @klaipedauniversity ! 🚀 This cutting-edge laboratory complex, nestled within the historic grounds of our academic campus, is poised to enhance education for students and educators alike.

🔬 The opening of the KU Methodological STEAM Centre is a significant milestone, as it signifies the inauguration of the first of three methodological centres in Lithuania. Equipped with specialised facilities such as biology-chemistry, physics-engineering, robotics-IT, and marine laboratories, complemented by the state-of-the-art FabLab digital manufacturing technology space, it stands as a beacon of innovation and discovery.

🌊 Under the expert guidance, students from grades 7-12 will embark on a journey of exploration, conducting research in biology and chemistry, probing the depths of physical phenomena, tackling engineering challenges, and utilising 3D printing to bring their ideas to life. Our EU-CONEXUS Student Community is welcome to participate at the event taking place next week: ‘Meet International companies at ConstructFest’! It is part of the @utcbro biggest event, #ConstructFEST.

🗓️ This is an online event organized by the EU-CONEXUS Career Center. It will take place on the 15th of April, between 3 PM – 4 PM CET.

For this event, we’ll be joined by representatives from Douglas OHI LLC and CoolPlanet
The keynote speakers will address a broad range of commonly asked questions, including:
▶️ What opportunities does your company offer for students to work internationally?
▶️ Can you describe any specific international projects or initiatives that students may get involved in?

On Friday #EUCONEXUS Students from @unirostock had

On Friday #EUCONEXUS Students from @unirostock had a chance to meet the crew from the @save.the.baltic.sea expedition one month into their 6,000 km hike around the Baltic Sea. On 11 March they took off from near @klaipedauniversity in Lithuania, raising awareness for some of the critical environmental and pollution issues in the Baltic through educational events, discussions and workshops along the way. Did you know that the Baltic Sea is amongst the world’s top five most polluted seas? 🌊

On occasion of the visit of the #SaveTheBalticSea delegation to Warnemünde (Rostock), the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde (IOW), together with the State Office for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Geology (LUNG) and the @eucc.deutschland , invited to a marine science day “StrandVision”, including a beach clean-up and a workshop on climate adaptation strategies with about 90 participants. 🙌

Mirco Haseler (IOW) & Dennis Gräwe (LUNG) gave a brief introduction to marine litter research to all participants: During the 45min clean-up on a 100m stretch of well-maintained beach, a shocking 530+ cigarette butts were found, along with 110+ plastic fireworks pieces and plenty of other small waste! 🤯

🌟 Congratulations to the Lithuanian national winners of the 4th edition of the #EUCONEXUS “Think Smart, Create Green” School Contest! 🎉

🏆 Category 12-15: Team “Environmental Sustainability” from Klaipėda S. Dachas Progymnasium. They crafted a thermal sleeping bag/coat/blanket using recycled materials, aiming to aid in disasters and combat climate change effects.

🏆 Category 15-18: Team “HomeTown Changers” from Klaipėda Universa Via International School. Their innovative idea involves using recycled materials for educational activities in kindergartens or schools, complete with production cost analysis and a sales strategy.
