European Funding: understanding the context & identifying opportunities
Short description of the course:
As public money is less easily available for researchers nowadays, securing funding has slowly become a prominent issue. This course is designed to explore the world of EU funding, with particular focus on competitive research calls for proposals. We will be looking to introduce the context, objectives and opportunities that come with EU-funded projects. As per the European Competence Framework for Researchers, managing research includes being able to mobilize resources and manage projects. In order to prepare aspiring researchers for the next steps of their career, our goal is to get them ready to contribute to EU funding applications.
Learning outcomes:
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Navigate the EU funding landscape
- Identify and understand relevant calls for proposals
- Use the appropriate language in the context of EU funding
- Know what is expected in a Horizon Europe proposal
- Understand strategic funding schemes, such as MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships
