The 21st of January, the Agricultural University of Athens celebrated the beginning of 2022, following the Greek tradition of Vasilopita lucky cake as a warm welcome to the New Year which shall bring health, prosperity and success to the University’s community.

To this cordially welcome of the New Year, many of the colleagues from our European University of Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability – EU-CONEXUS – were present together with the Chair of the Governing Board and President of La Rochelle University, Jean-Marc Ogier, giving the message with the Rector of AUA, Prof. Spyridon Kintzios, that EU-CONEXUS is getting bigger, opening up opportunities in 9 Universities and cities of Europe. Building our Alliance in mutual trust and respect, we are experiencing a joint scientific community, joint educational Programmes and a European University for International networking. Being a part of EU-CONNEXUS as a transnational higher education and research institution, all Community members, academic/ administrative staff/ researchers are able directly or indirectly to participate in different aspects of EU-CONEXUS, getting the benefit of the transnational mobility and interdisciplinary activities.

Additionally, there was an important announcement from Mr. Nikos Kouretas, the CEO of Attico Metro S.A., that the Agricultural University of Athens is going to be connected with the Kerameikos metro station (Blue line 3) in order to facilitate the access to AUA Campus as well as to the external/ European/ international visitors.

Undoubtedly, 2022 is going to be a lucky year bringing crucial changes and improvements to our community.
