Building health, inclusion and society through mountain sports
This Student Research Hub aims to provide hands-on experience in the logistics and execution of sociological fieldwork in mountain environments. Students will support the coordination of academic events, participating groups, and social interactions during activities. Subsequent activities will include data processing, including transcription, data cleaning, narrative coding, and database management.
General learning outcomes
- Gain general insight into the logistical challenges and operational procedures involved in field-based research within outdoor environments.
- Gain familiarity with the fundamental workflow of qualitative data management, covering the stages from initial collection to preliminary organisation.
- Develop an understanding of the coordination required for academic initiatives and the management of group dynamics in a research context.
- Acquire experience in supporting the day-to-day administrative and technical tasks essential for the maintenance of a project.
