Student Congress

Back in May, this yearโ€™s EU-CONEXUS Student Congress gathered 86 students from all partner universities in Limassol, Cyprus. The event was organised and hosted by Frederick University and happened in parallel to the EU-CONEXUs Arts and Culture festival.

In combination, both events strongly highlighted the spirit of international collaboration and transcultural exploration โ€“ two crucial pillars of EU-CONEXUS identity. The underlying objectives of this yearโ€™s Student Congress were to strengthen the joint social network of students from all nine partner universities and to showcase the role of the student community in shaping the overall image of the alliance in Europe and beyond.

In direct connection with these objectives, the discussions that took place throughout the event focused on academic and social aspects of student life. Students also took part in various social activities: creative workshops, thematic games, and a unique workshop aimed at capturing the identity of an EU-CONEXUS student.

As the alliance prepares for a new year of growth and development, the participants were also invited to brainstorm new event concepts that would bring the student community closer together. Besides a marked interest in having more opportunities for cultural exchanges and educational initiatives, the participants also suggested highly specific activity ideas, such as a mentorship programme, virtual studying nights, and sports activities.

This student-led approach is expected to motivate better engagement with upcoming events and foster even more meaningful connections within this culturally rich and ambitious community.
