Multidisciplinary oceanographic research in coastal ecosystems: analysis of biological data
This Research Student Hub project aims to provide basic knowledge for a multidisciplinary oceanographic characterization of a coastal area. Students will conduct a multidisciplinary oceanographic characterization of a coastal area, integrating physical, chemical, biological, and geological data to develop a comprehensive understanding of coastal ecosystem.
General learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- identify and characterize benthic biocenoses along a coastal sector using a range of field and laboratory techniques.
- analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data on biotic and abiotic factors characteristic of benthic ecosystems, and compare their findings with previous studies in the area.
