Sustainable built environment at UTCB, european research collaborations and applied innovations within planetary boundaries
Short description of what will be presented during the seminar:
The research team from the CAMBI research center of the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest (UTCB) proposes a seminar presenting applied research and innovation activities in the field of sustainable built environment. The session will showcase concrete projects developed at UTCB, including solar collectors, low-tech energy efficiency solutions, and methodologies for environmental assessment for buildings and cities.
A central perspective of the seminar is the alignment of the built environment sector with the planetary boundaries framework, addressing the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, material consumption, and environmental pressures while maintaining social and functional performance of buildings.
The seminar will also highlight our European research collaborations and funding experience in projects targeting climate neutrality, resilience, and sustainable urban transformation. The main objective is to foster interdisciplinary partnerships within the EU-CONEXUS network and explore joint research opportunities.
