Physicochemical and Biological Characterisation of Sustainable Bioproducts
Short description of what will be presented during the seminar:
This EU-CONEXUS seed funded 2025 project promoted a collaborative research initiative between partner universities (SETU and UCV) focused on advanced biomaterials and antiviral strategies for biomedical applications. This seminar will present the main outcomes of the collaboration, highlighting two research lines developed by the participating groups.
The first part of the project focused on the physicochemical characterisation of hybrid films. The seminar will present the methodologies used for the characterisation of the films, including the evaluation of their structural properties.
The second part of the collaboration focused on the biological characterisation of drug incorporated natural-based solvent systems and their antiviral activity. The seminar will describe the experimental approaches used to assess antiviral performance.
In addition to strengthening cooperation and knowledge exchange between EU-CONEXUS universities, this project has laid out groundwork for future joint research. Building on these collaborative efforts, this seminar will explore the potential biomedical applications of bio-based formulations.
