Beyond Stereotypes: Understanding Gen Z’s Minds, Motivations & Mental Health
Short description of what will be presented during the seminar:
This 30-minute lecture explores how Generation Z—students born between 1995 and 2012—experience mental health, stress, identity development, and the transition to university. Shaped by digital immersion, economic instability, and global uncertainty, Gen Z shows distinct learning preferences, psychological vulnerabilities, and expectations of educators. They are more open about mental health and more aware of their difficulties, yet often struggle with emotional regulation, time management, and self-confidence. The lecture outlines what Gen Z needs from higher education. It also provides practical tips for educators to help bridge the gap between generations and support student well-being.
