From 6 to 10 July 2026, the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV) welcomed around 60 students from the nine universities of the EU-CONEXUS Alliance for the Micro-credentials Summer School: Shaping Sustainable Futures through European Action. The week-long programme brought together participants from across Europe for an enriching experience combining specialised learning, collaboration and intercultural exchange.
Students chose one of four thematic tracks, each combining two complementary micro-credentials aligned with the EU-CONEXUS Sustainability and European sectors. The academic offer explored topics including sustainable fashion, European green industrial policy, social entrepreneurship, funding opportunities for young researchers, sustainable transport and integrated mobility planning, the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), plant diversity management and green competences.
By bringing together different disciplines and perspectives, the Summer School encouraged participants to explore today’s environmental, social and economic challenges through a European lens. The flexible learning format also gave students the opportunity to develop new knowledge and skills while engaging with subjects beyond their home university curricula.
Alongside the academic activities, participants discovered Valencia through a range of cultural and social experiences that showcased the city’s heritage, Mediterranean lifestyle and local traditions. These informal moments strengthened connections between students and contributed to a vibrant international atmosphere throughout the week.
The Summer School once again highlighted the value of EU-CONEXUS micro-credentials in offering flexible, interdisciplinary learning opportunities that complement traditional degree programmes. By combining academic excellence with international mobility, the initiative continues to equip students with the knowledge, skills and European perspective needed to help shape a more sustainable future.
