International collaboration remains at the heart of EU-CONEXUS, extending opportunities for knowledge exchange beyond Europe through its network of associated partners. Between 28 May and 4 June 2026, the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest (UTCB) further strengthened this global dimension through an Erasmus+ mobility at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana, an Associated Partner of the EU-CONEXUS Alliance.

Representing UTCB were Associate Professor Maria Goga, from the Department for Teacher Training, and master’s student Adina Voicu, who participated in an academic programme designed to promote educational innovation, intercultural dialogue and institutional cooperation.

The mobility provided an excellent platform for exchanging best practices in higher education while reinforcing the longstanding collaboration between UTCB and the University of Cape Coast. Throughout the programme, the UTCB representatives delivered lectures, presentations and interactive workshops for university faculty members and postgraduate students, fostering meaningful discussions on the future of teaching and learning in an increasingly digital world.

The academic sessions focused on several key topics shaping contemporary education, including the integration of Artificial Intelligence into teaching and learning, the effective use of digital platforms for education and assessment, and the implementation of innovative, learner-centred pedagogical approaches. By sharing practical experiences and educational methodologies developed at UTCB, the participants contributed to a dynamic exchange of expertise while encouraging dialogue on how higher education institutions can respond to the evolving needs of society and future generations of learners.

The strong engagement of the academic community at the University of Cape Coast highlighted the growing international interest in digital transformation in education. Discussions emphasised not only the opportunities offered by emerging technologies but also the importance of equipping educators with the competencies required to create inclusive, flexible and future-oriented learning environments.

For the participating master’s student, the Erasmus+ mobility represented a valuable opportunity to gain international academic experience, collaborate with colleagues from a different educational and cultural context, and further develop the professional and intercultural skills that are increasingly essential in today’s global academic landscape.

This mobility demonstrates the significant role of the Erasmus+ Programme in promoting academic excellence, international cooperation and educational innovation. It also reflects the shared commitment of UTCB, the University of Cape Coast and the wider EU-CONEXUS Alliance to building sustainable partnerships that transcend geographical boundaries and contribute to the development of a globally connected higher education ecosystem.

By engaging with associated partners across different continents, EU-CONEXUS continues to expand its international reach, fostering collaboration, mutual learning and the exchange of innovative educational practices. Initiatives such as this Erasmus+ mobility reaffirm the Alliance’s mission to prepare students, researchers and educators to address global challenges through cooperation, innovation and a shared commitment to excellence.
