EU-CONEXUS is moving towards a new stage of development with the EU-CONEXUS LevelUP project, which has successfully passed the evaluation stage and has been invited to proceed to Grant Agreement Preparation.

Planned for 2026–2028, EU-CONEXUS LevelUP will support the next phase of the Alliance as a European University focused on Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability. Building on the achievements of previous EU-CONEXUS projects, this new stage will help the Alliance further consolidate its joint structures, strengthen cooperation between partner universities and make European university collaboration more visible and accessible in everyday academic life.

“EU-CONEXUS LevelUP is an important opportunity to consolidate what we have built together and to make our European University more tangible for students, staff, institutions and society. It reflects the maturity of our Alliance and our shared ambition to connect education, research, innovation and regional engagement around the challenges of sustainable coastal areas.”

For students, this new stage will create more opportunities to study in an international environment, take part in mobility activities, benefit from joint educational offers and become part of a European academic community connected across several countries.

For academic and administrative staff, LevelUP will support deeper cooperation in teaching, research, innovation, digital collaboration and institutional development. It will help partner institutions further strengthen shared activities, joint working methods and long-term collaboration across the Alliance.

For universities and regional ecosystems, the Alliance will continue to support cooperation with public institutions, businesses, civil society and other partners in coastal urban areas. Through this collaboration, EU-CONEXUS will contribute to knowledge exchange and joint responses to social, environmental and economic challenges faced by Europe’s coastal regions.

EU-CONEXUS LevelUP reflects the growing maturity, commitment and shared ambition of the Alliance. It marks an important step towards a more integrated European academic community that connects education, research, innovation and regional engagement around the future of smart and sustainable coastal areas.

EU-CONEXUS thanks all students, staff, partner universities, associated partners and the EU-CONEXUS legal entity for their continued contribution to the development of the Alliance and congratulates the entire community on this important achievement.
