EU-CONEXUS was represented at the 3rd ESU Conference of the Alliances by Student Board member Stefanaki Athanasia-Elli, who participated in the event held in Malta from 1–5 May.

Organised by KSU Malta and the European Students’ Union, the conference brought together student representatives from European University Alliances under the theme “Leading Together: Strengthening Student Communities and Leadership Across Europe.”

The event provided an important platform for discussing the future of student engagement and strengthening cooperation between alliances across Europe. Through workshops, panel discussions and collaborative sessions, participants exchanged experiences and explored ways to better connect local student needs with the broader goals of the European Education Area.

Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between alliances, sharing best practices, quality assurance and recognition within European higher education, as well as the future implementation of the European Degree label and mobility opportunities for students. The conference also highlighted the importance of inclusive governance and the active involvement of student representatives in alliance decision-making processes.

Alongside the working sessions, participants had the opportunity to network, exchange ideas and build new connections in an open and collaborative international environment.

Participation in the ESU Conference of the Alliances reflects EU-CONEXUS’s commitment to student engagement, innovation and international cooperation. By actively involving student representatives in European-level discussions, the alliance continues to contribute to a more inclusive, connected and forward-looking European higher education landscape.
