The EU-CONEXUS Alliance was represented by Philipp Schubert, a Student Board member from University of Rostock.

“I had the honour of representing the Student Board of EU-CONEXUS as well as University of Rostock in Warsaw. On the first day, the organisers ESN and EUC Voices introduced themselves, and we had an opportunity to connect and reconnect with many new, as well as some familiar, faces.

During the second day of EUSAF, we participated in numerous workshops. Some of the main questions we discussed concerned the stakeholders of University Alliances, their needs, and expectations from and towards them. We also shared our opinions on the meaning and value of serving as a student ambassador or representative and presented posters about our respective University Alliances. The best posters were later discussed in a plenary session as part of the forum’s closing summary.

On the third day, we had an open session where we discussed the main points of our alliances. I reflected on the ways to make the selection of student representatives fairer through elections in local student bodies.

In retrospect, the most impressive feat was that of the Eut+ Alliance (European University of Technology). Its partner universities – including the University of Dublin and Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences – set their eyes on the ambitious motto “1 University – 9 Campuses”, which entails merging all partner campuses into one University. I find this vision truly inspiring, as it embodies the implementation of the internationalisation strategy presented by the European Commission through the European University Initiative.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank EUC Voices, ESN Poland, and SGH Warsaw School of Economics for their excellent organisation, moderation, and hosting of the conference.”
