On 11 September 2025, the EU-CONEXUS team took part in the 6th edition of the Green Party, La Rochelle Université’s flagship welcome event for new students. Held on the Technoforum lawn, the eco-friendly festival brought together hundreds of students for an evening dedicated to discovery, conviviality and campus life.

Alongside university services, student associations and institutional partners, EU-CONEXUS introduced students to the many international opportunities available through the European University Alliance.

Discovering Europe through play

To engage students in a fun and interactive way, the EU-CONEXUS team organised a geography challenge focused on the nine partner universities and their home countries. The game encouraged participants to test their knowledge of Europe while learning more about the Alliance and the opportunities it offers.

Students visiting the stand discovered the wide range of EU-CONEXUS initiatives available throughout their studies, including student mobility, international internships, collaborative projects, cultural activities, micro-credentials and European experiences designed to enrich both their academic and personal journeys.

Student ambassadors sharing their experience

A special thank you goes to Ayada Arvault, EU-CONEXUS Student Ambassador, who joined the team throughout the event. Having participated in the EU-CONEXUS Festival in Limassol, Cyprus, last spring, she shared her first-hand experience with fellow students, illustrating how the Alliance enables young people to study, collaborate and build friendships across Europe.

Her testimony helped future participants better understand the concrete benefits of joining EU-CONEXUS activities and encouraged many students to imagine their own international adventure.

Building a European campus community

The Green Party has become an essential event at the beginning of the academic year, combining entertainment with opportunities to discover the services, associations and initiatives that contribute to student life. Organised as an eco-responsible event, it also reflects La Rochelle Université’s commitment to sustainability through environmentally friendly practices, awareness-raising activities and the promotion of sustainable mobility.

For EU-CONEXUS, participating in the Green Party is an opportunity to meet students from their very first days at university and demonstrate that Europe can be an integral part of their academic experience from the start.

We look forward to welcoming many of these new students to future EU-CONEXUS activities, projects and mobility opportunities across our European Alliance.
