Building a Community for Knowledge Sharing

At the launch of this initiative, a dedicated online space was created to host the community and enable the participants to connect, share experiences, and access tailored resources. This platform quickly became a hub for active dialogue and knowledge exchange.

Between November 2024 and March 2025, members of this virtual community engaged in a series of thematic workshops focused on the practical application of research management skills. These interactive sessions explored best practices, encouraged collaboration, and opened doors to funding and further development opportunities – all tailored to the evolving needs of RMA professionals.

Entering a New Phase: The Art of Management

In April 2025, the initiative entered an exciting new chapter with the launch of The Art of Management – a leadership development programme designed to empower RMAs as strategic leaders in research environments. Running from April 4 to May 21, the programme combines theory with practical application, guiding participants through key focal areas such as communication, team motivation, emotional intelligence, and adaptive leadership.

Delivered through coaching sessions, real-life scenarios, and interactive workshops, the programme offers a structured path for leadership growth and concludes with a certification ceremony. This experience as a whole not only enhances individual capabilities but also paves the way for the next step: the launch of a dedicated mentorship programme, which will fully embed the RMA network within the EU-CONEXUS alliance.

Looking Ahead: Join Us

As the community continues to grow, new colleagues are welcome to join. This initiative invited everyone from those who are just beginning their journey to experienced research managers, offering a unique opportunity to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a stronger, more connected European research landscape.

All activities are organized under the EU-funded project EU-CONEXUS ENABLES (Project number: 101136822), titled ‘Promoting Excellence Through Innovative Eco-systems‘.
