#WorldOceanDay

Oceans and seas cover more than 70 percent of the Earth’s surface.

Today, as we celebrate #WorldOceanDay we need to remember their vital role on life on Earth and the need to protect and sustainably use their resources. In this sense, the research project cluster “Ocean Technology Campus” (OTC) is being coordinated by the University of Rostock.

This future international centre for underwater technology aims to gather numerous research institutes and many partners from society and industry to reconcile ecological and economic aspects of the use of marine resources by fostering the development of innovative maritime technologies and applications. This project was recognised last year as a future cluster in the nationwide Clusters4Future competition organised by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
